MESSAGE FROM RALPH DeZAGO

Ralph DeZago

  Fellow Republicans,

As Derek Schmidt and I promised you during the primary election campaign, the unsuccessful candidate in our race would get the winner's yard signs and put them in our yards.  I have contacted Derek's campaign manager to do just that, and his signs will be prominently displayed on my property until the November election is concluded.

There are far more Republicans in this state than Democrats, and the only way we can lose elections is if the Democrats find ways to split us up, or if we do that to ourselves.  Derek and I have both told you that we would not allow this to happen in the Attorney General's race. I encourage all of my supporters in the primary not only to support Derek now  and to vote for him, but to actively work for his November election. I know I will.

The primaries are over.  The Party has spoken.  As to the Attorney General's race, there were no fences to mend and it is easy for me to support Derek.

But as to the "not so friendly" races -- get over it!

Who do you want in office?  fellow Republicans who you may disagree with on some issues, or Democrats who are pushing a socialist agenda and leading us away from our position of  prominence?

Get your folks out there to help your fellow Republicans who have the party's endorsement!

Sincerely,

Ralph De Zago

Republican

MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR

Hello to our Johnson County Republicans on the eve of the primary elections of 2010,

This primary campaign season has finally come to a close.  It is not unusual for us to experience a tough campaign, and this one has certainly been very aggressive.  This process is our opportunity to have our “Republican family discussion,” and then to go to the polls and make our vote count.

As you can probably imagine, the Johnson County Republican Party occasionally receives questions or concerns on all sides of any given issue and sometimes individual candidates.  Just like with the state and national Republican Party, the County Party's role is not to pass judgment on any particular issue or candidate.

Rather, it is the responsibility of the individual voter and the electorate as a whole to make determinations as to a candidate's suitability or stance on any particular issue through the primary and general election process.  Along with our other county party officers, I have sought to stay out of the way and let the candidates speak without restraint to the voting electorate, so that with an independent mind, we can conduct our election process the way our founding fathers designed.

As we have for the last two years, the Johnson County Republican Party urges all of Republicans to work hard for, and advocate for, their candidates and issues throughout the democratic process.  The Party's proper role is to encourage all Republicans to act with fairness and civility...the American, and the Ronald Reagan, way.  As President Reagan said, "...the Eleventh Commandment: Thou shall not speak ill of any other Republican."

In a few more hours, we will be past the primary season; the voters will have spoken.  My prayer and heart’s desire is that we will then come together in one heart and mind to fully and heartily support those candidates that have advanced in the primary process.

To those brave candidates who do not advance, we wish to express our thanks for putting yourself and your resources on the line.  It takes enormous courage to attempt what you have done.  We admire you for your energy and aspiration.

To our candidates who will be moving forward to the general election, we are behind you all the way, and we wish you success during the next leg of the journey to victory in November.  Let’s win in 2010.  Clean Sweep!
